FAQs

How do I choose the correct size for shapewear?

Always select your size based on your current body measurements, not your clothing size or desired target size.

  • Use a soft tape measure to record your waist (narrowest part) and hips (widest part).
  • Refer directly to our Re-Contour Sizing Chart.
  • Do not size down. Purchasing a smaller size will not provide stronger compression; instead, it causes rolling, bulging, discomfort, and premature fabric strain.
What should I do if I am between two sizes?
  • For daily comfort / smooth layering: Choose the larger size.
  • For firm event sculpting: Choose the smaller size, provided your measurements fall within the threshold of the sizing chart.
How do I put on a full-body bodysuit or high-waist shaper easily?

To get the best fit and lift:

  1. Step into the garment (do not pull bodysuits or high-waist shapers over your head).
  2. Pull the shaper up gradually over your knees, thighs, and hips, smoothing the fabric as you go.
  3. Once in place, adjust the bust support/straps and reach inside to position your glutes into the designated lifting cups.
Will the high-waist shaper or bodysuit roll down during the day?

No, when sized correctly. Our Re-Contour series features anti-roll engineering—including integrated flexible boning, wide elastic bands, and anti-slip silicone grip technology (drop-glue lining)—to ensure the waistband stays securely in place whether you are sitting, standing, or walking.

**If your shaper rolls down, it is usually an indicator that the size selected is too small or the waistband is placed improperly.

How do I use the restroom while wearing a full bodysuit?

You do not need to take off the entire garment. Our Re-Contour bodysuits feature an overlapping open-gusset design, allowing convenient and hygienic restroom access without removing your outfit or shaper.

Is it safe to wear shapewear every day?

Yes. Our shapewear uses breathable, high-stretch nylon-spandex blends (including premium Sensil® and Lycra®) designed for adaptive compression.

As long as you wear the correct size and do not experience pain, numbness, or breathing restriction, it is completely safe for continuous daily wear.

Will the shapewear flatten my chest or buttocks?

No. Re-Contour products feature 3D anatomical zonal knitting:

  • Glute Area: Uses high-flex, lower-compression fabric that cups and lifts the buttocks naturally rather than flattening them.
  • Bust Area: Features open-bust cuts or 3D expanded-cup weaving to support and enhance your natural chest shape.
How should I wash my shapewear to preserve its elasticity?

To protect the high-performance elastane (Lycra®) and silicone anti-slip grips:

  • Hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent (recommended).
  • If machine washing, place the garment in a mesh laundry bag on a gentle/delicate cycle with cold water.
  • Do not use fabric softeners or bleach (softeners coat the elastane fibers and ruin compression).
  • Air dry flat in the shade. Do not tumble dry, wring forcefully, or iron.
How should I wear my Shapee shapewear?

Don't pull the shapewear up from the waistband in one go.

Rolling it down first and pulling it up gradually helps reduce stretching and damage to the fabric.

Will shapewear help me lose weight?

No. Shapewear does not directly burn fat or cause permanent weight loss. It temporarily shapes and smooths your silhouette while you are wearing it.

For postpartum moms, your body naturally needs time to recover after pregnancy and childbirth. Shapewear should be used for support, comfort and confidence, rather than as a weight-loss solution.

Can I sleep while wearing shapewear?

It is generally better to remove shapewear before sleeping.

Your body needs time to relax and recover, especially during postpartum recovery.

Can I wear shapewear under dresses or work clothes?

Yes! Shapewear can be worn underneath many types of clothing.

It can help create a smoother silhouette, making it suitable for:

👗 Dresses
👖 Pants
👚 Workwear
🩱 Skirts
✨ Special occasions
🏠 Everyday outfits

Style tip: Choose the right shapewear design for your outfit so it stays comfortable and invisible underneath your clothes.

Will Shapee shapewear make my body look unnatural?

Shapee shapewear is designed to enhance your natural curves, not completely change them.

Our targeted shaping zones are designed to support areas such as the tummy, waist, hips and buttocks while maintaining a more natural-looking silhouette.

Your body, just with a little extra support. ❤️

Can I wear shapewear if I have had a C-section?

Yes, but do not rush.

Your C-section incision needs time to heal. Avoid direct pressure or compression over the surgical area until your healthcare professional confirms that it is safe.

Once you have received medical clearance, choose a comfortable level of compression and stop wearing it if it causes pain or irritation.

For C-section moms: Healing first, shaping later. ❤️

TIPSY

💡 Tipsy #1: Start Slow

New to shapewear? Don't wear it for the whole day immediately.

Start with a few hours and see how your body feels. You can gradually increase the wearing time when you feel comfortable.

💡 Tipsy #2: Don't Size Down!

Want stronger compression? Don't simply choose a smaller size.

The right size gives you better support, comfort and shaping. Too-small shapewear can feel overly tight and may roll or dig into your skin.

Right size = Better comfort + Better shaping. ❤️

💡 Tipsy #3: Roll Before You Pull

Don't pull your shapewear up from the waistband all at once.

Instead:

ROLL → STEP IN → PULL UP → SMOOTH → ADJUST

This makes it easier to put on and helps reduce unnecessary stretching of the fabric.

💡 Tipsy #4: Pull From the Bottom

Always work your way up from the bottom.

Gently pull the fabric upward little by little instead of tugging hard at one area.

This helps distribute the compression evenly around your body.

💡 Tipsy #5: Smooth It Out

After putting on your shapewear, take a moment to smooth the fabric around your:

Tummy → Waist → Hips → Buttocks → Legs

Make sure there are no folded or bunched-up areas.

A smooth fit = A smoother silhouette. ✨

💡 Tipsy #6: Check Your Comfort

Your shapewear should feel snug, not painful.

Try sitting, walking and bending before starting your day.

If you feel pain, numbness, tingling or difficulty breathing, remove the shapewear.

Remember: Compression should support you, not squeeze you.

💡 Tipsy #7: Morning Is a Good Time to Wear

For everyday wear, putting on shapewear before you get too active can make it easier to position correctly.

Get dressed → Adjust your shapewear → Put on your outfit → You're ready to go! ✨

💡 Tipsy #8: Wear It Under the Right Outfit

Choose your shapewear according to your outfit.

Cheongsam / Special Occasion / Evening Dress: Choose shaping & fitted styles (Shapee Exclusive Re-Contour Seamless Open-Bust Mid-Thigh Bodysuit)

Kebaya / Baju kurung: Choose fit and smooth styles (Shapee Exclusive Re-Contour Seamless Mid-Thigh Bodysuit)

Bodycon dress / Fitted Skirt / Pencil Skirt: Choose seamless/smooth styles (Shapee Exclusive Re-Contour Seamless Mid-Thigh Bodysuit)

High-waisted pants: Choose tummy & waist support (Shapee Exclusive Re-Contour Seamless High-Waist Shaper)

Blouse / Top: Choose styles that provide smooth base underneath coverage (Shapee Exclusive Re-Contour Seamless Camisole Bodysuit)

Workwear: Choose comfortable everyday compression (Shapee Exclusive Re-Contour Seamless Tummy Control Briefs)

The right design can help your shapewear stay discreet under clothing.

💡 Tipsy #9: Don't Pull Too Hard

Shapewear is designed with elastic fibres that provide stretch and compression.

If you need to adjust it, use both hands and gently distribute the fabric instead of pulling strongly from one point.

💡 Tipsy #10: Don't Wring!

Never twist your shapewear like a towel.

Instead, gently squeeze out excess water and let it air dry.

Gentle care = Longer-lasting elasticity.

💡 Tipsy #11: Postpartum Mom? Listen to Your Body

Every mom's recovery is different.

Don't compare your recovery with another mom's.

If your body says "not yet", give yourself more time.

Recover first. Shape when you're ready. 🌷

💡 Tipsy #12: Shapewear Doesn't Replace Exercise

Shapewear can help you look smoother and feel supported while wearing it, but it does not replace exercise, healthy eating or postpartum recovery.

Think of it as your support + confidence companion, not a weight-loss shortcut.

💡 Tipsy #13: Remember the Golden Rule

If it feels good, fits well and supports you, you're on the right track!

Shapewear should help you feel:

🌸 Supported
✨ Shaped
💕 Comfortable
💃 Confident

❤️ Shapee Mom Reminder

Your body has done something amazing.

Shapewear isn't about hiding your body.

It's about giving you a little extra support, a smoother look and a little more confidence whenever YOU want it.
