A little support for feeding time
Settle into a comfortable seat, place the pillow across your lap or beside you, and keep baby supported in your arms throughout the feed. Adjust the pillow to support your forearms rather than leaning down towards baby.
1 · Cradle hold
Pillow across lap → forearm supported → baby in your arms
Cradle baby facing towards you, with their head resting in the bend of your arm. Use the pillow beneath your forearm for comfortable support.
2 · Cross-cradle hold
Pillow across lap → opposite arm supports baby → free hand adjusts
Support baby with the arm opposite the breast you are feeding from. Rest your forearm on the pillow while keeping baby's head and neck supported by your hand.
3 · Football / clutch hold
Pillow beside you → baby along your side → head supported in your hand
Place the pillow beside you and hold baby along your side, with their feet pointing behind you. Keep their head and neck supported and their face clear of the pillow.
Position · Hold · Adjust
- Sit comfortably with your back supported and place the pillow where your forearm will rest.
- Bring baby into your arms. Keep their face visible and nose and mouth clear.
- Adjust for your comfort while continuing to hold baby. The pillow is a support, not a substitute for your arms.
